5 Wellbeing tips for healthy skin- advice from Saltair day spa torquay vic

Wrinkles will happen to us all, but if your skin is glowing with health and vitality then honestly no one will notice them anyway!

1) Make sure your diet contains plenty of antioxidants (which help slow down cellular ageing.) Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best sources of natural plant antioxidants. Try  juicing 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, 4 celery stalks, 1 fennel stalk, some spinach leaves and a piece of ginger juiced up together. But feel free to experiment!

3) Food combine. By eating protein and carbohydrates at separate meals, you’ll prevent unnecessary fermentation in the colon and increase nutrient absorption into the blood. You can eat salads, non-starchy vegetables, roots, seeds and herbs with either the protein or carbs at the same meal.

4) Always eat fruit on its own, at least 30 minutes before or after eating something else. It is digested by the body extremely quickly and it’s best eaten on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning with no other foods. If you eat fruit after a meal it gets stuck behind the other food that takes longer to digest so will just sit and ferment in the gut. Melon is the fastest of all fruits to digest so either eat it alone or leave it alone!

5) Include lots of fibre in your diet. It keeps your intestinal tract regular, and enhances your elimination of waste products from your body. Some people with skin problems suffer from constipation because they fail to feed themselves with good sources of fibre. Whole grains, green vegetables and sprouted seeds are all excellent sources
