Day spa skin prep from Torquay

Now the clocks have gone back, the days are shorter, darker and a little bit gloomier in Torquay so we’ve put together tricks and tips to help you get that luminous day spa glow.  Winter is coming and instead of going into hibernation until spring or your next glamourous getaway, get working on that elusive post-holiday glow with these hot tips..

Exfoliate

Dry, dull and lack lustre skin could be a thing of the past… that is, if you exfoliate regularly. It can be quick and relatively pain-free – but don’t go overboard, a few times a week is plenty – and is one of the best ways of removing excessive dead skin from its surface. Start from the bottom, slowly working your way up from your ankles ‘til you reach the neck and shoulders, using an exfoliating glove, body salts (or sugar pastes) or a loofah sponge. As for the face, a little goes a long way – just a small amount of gentle face scrub or a glycolic exfoliant such as our Nimue ‘Exfoliating Enzyme’ will do the trick. Go for gentle circular motions for about 20 seconds, (2mins with our Glycolic ) rinse with warm water and you’re good to go. Our Day spa  is perfect if you want to keep your skin glowing!

Moisturise

It goes without saying that cold weather brings with it a gust of dry air, so combating it with heavy-duty moisturisers is the way to go. Switching things up a little is a good idea if your someone who typically prefers lighter lotions. Coconut, Macadamia nut and Almond oil is the way to go of all moisturisers, as these oils can combat seriously parched skin in a matter of minutes. These oils can also be used for the whole body, from the delicate under-eye area, to lips and elbows.

Tip: Find a cream with vitamin C and SPF, – (our Nimue Sun C)  to go over your facial preparation and layer it on as soon as you get out the shower, so it has time to sink straight in!
